Andy Warhol was born on August 26, 1928 in Pittsburg, PA.  He worked as an illustrator for several magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and The New Yorker.  He was also a commercial artist.

Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein are the great artists of the Pop Art Movement.

Warhol is famous for his paintings of

celebrities and famous people like Marilyn Monroe and images of the Campbell's soup can.

Warhol would paint the same image over and over again.  He would create interesting effects by changing the color of the images and putting all of them together in the same picture.  His works are filled with bright, bold colors to make them vibrant.  He would put two colors together that would help to enhance an image.  Warhol made everyday objects

important through his simple representation of those objects.

Andy Warhol died on February 22, 1987.  His art continues to influence our culture and society today.
